This time it is not only about your home, it expanded from your home to security of your car and mailbox.

Amazon Ring has announced a nice variety of new security sensors, alarms and cameras. Ring’s trying to “make neighborhoods safer” and these products are proving this statement. Products include the Ring Always Home Drone Cam, the Ring Car Alarm, Ring Car Cam and Ring Mailbox Sensor.

These products are just announced yet and most of these smart security products are expected to be in market by the start of 2021. The only product going to be available soon is Ring Mailbox Sensor and its pre-orders will start on Ring’s website and Amazon from 8th October 2020.

But all the products announced are revolutionary addition to security category and are giving some serious competition to other home security companies in market.

Amazon Ring’s New Security Products

Below are some details of the Amazon Ring’s new security products:

1. Ring’s Always Home Drone Cam:

There are places at home where you cannot keep stationary cameras for reasons but at times you’re worried about their security too. Amazon Ring solved your problem and introduced its new and unique Always Home Drone Cam. It is providing security and privacy at same time because of its drone feature. You can easily set it up when away from home. Ring used obstacle avoidance technology in Always Home Cam to avoid it crashing into objects or anything that comes in its way and its wings are designed in such a way that it can easily fly in your home and that’s why named as Always Home.

You can pre determine its path as you want it to be, once its path is designed and it starts flying, it cannot be controlled manually while flying, its robot. According to drone cam developer, it flies for 5 minutes on pre-determined path and lands back into its charging dock for charging purpose and is efficiently charged in 1 hour, which is quite good for home use purpose. Keeping your privacy on top, developers ensured the design in which camera view is blocked by charging dock while charging, which means that it records only while flying.

You can connect drone to Ring Alarm system to improve your home security using Ring technologies. Whenever any security threat is detected by Alarm system, it rings and drone sensors will detect that alarm and it will start flying, providing you the aerial view. Other than this you can fly it on demand too, through Ring app.

You can keep check on activities at home, check whether windows and doors are locked or not or whether all gas connections are turned off or not. It produces a humming sound while flying so you can know it is flying and recording. One drawback is that there is no built in microphone, which means no voice recording.

Always Home Drone Cam is going to launch in 2021, so we can expect improvements in it. As per now, it will be available for $250.

2. Ring Car Security:

Moving one step ahead, Amazon Ring introduced smart gadgets for security of your car as well. Those new security systems include Car Security Cam, Car Security Alarm and Car Connect System.

First of them is Amazon’s Ring Car Alarm. Car Alarm is a simple wireless device, which can be easily plugged in OBD-II port of your car. This simplicity of connectivity is to ensure that security is for everyone and not only people with luxurious cars.

Car Alarm notifies you through Ring app about bumps on the way, or if someone tries to break-in, and also when you tow your car with someone else’s car.

It is developed with a built-in siren, which can be triggered by you right after receiving alerts. If you are lazy in terms of notifications, you can also connect this Car Alarm with Alexa enabled devices so that you can be alerted on time.

Accompanying Ring Car Alarm is built a Car Security Cam. Security cams for car is not a new thing but the special thing about this Car Cam is that owners can receive alerts, view recorded footage, and check whether car is locked or not through Car Connect System. By viewing footage from camera, you can trigger car alarm if there is any security threat. Car Cam can record both interior and exterior footage of your car.

If you are stuck in traffic and want to notify your boss or someone else, you can simply say “Alexa! I’m pulled over” and system will automatically record the outside footage of the car and send it to the pre-determined list.  But to be functional, it needs Wi-Fi or LTE connectivity.

Once again, keeping your privacy a priority, Ring designed Car Cam in such a way that it can be turned off when needed.

Car Cam is starting at $199 and will be available in 2021.

Car Connect is a whole security system designed for your cars’ security. It connects you with Car Alarm and Car Cam and serves as single platform for alerts and notifications.

According to Amazon, in its early time, this system will only be tested on Tesla Cars and later on other brands.

Ring Mailbox Sensor:

As with other advancements, numbers of thefts are also increasing day by day and especially during pandemic there’s obvious increase in mailbox package thefts. Amazon’s Ring has solved your problem and announced a really low budget and useful Mail Sensor for $30 only.

This tiny device will send you alerts whenever your mailbox is opened. It is really useful as whenever you get a mail/package in your mailbox, you’ll get notified through connected devices, similarly when someone tries to open your mailbox you’ll be notified.

There’s no news about built in siren so we can expect that you can connect this sensor with Alexa enabled devices like Ring App or Echo devices to keep you notified and you can get your mail on time.

No certain launch date is announced yet but you can order this amazing product from 8th October. All of these products will be available on official websites of Amazon and Ring.
