OnePlus is an emerging Chinese Smartphone manufacturer. Some of the mentionable smartphones manufactured by OnePlus are: OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 6T. Though OnePlus is not a big name as Apple, Samsung and Huawei but in some countries it gained much popularity in very short time. Reason of its popularity is that OnePlus is offering premium smartphones in affordable price range. There are rumors that OnePlus is soon announcing OnePlus Watch.
Is OnePlus launching any watch?
There are rumors that this year OnePlus is going to release their first ever smart watch. We cannot say that these rumors are baseless as a smart watch by OnePlus has been spotted on the IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) on August 27, and then on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). To be on IMDA’s certification site means that we can hope it to be in market anytime. As OnePlus made no announcement about this watch so as per IDMA certification site, we are naming it OnePlus Watch.
An ex-employee of OnePlus Company revealed that company is working actively on the development of smart watch from last year and it is not surprising news because back in 2016 Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, has confirmed that they are working on watch and design is ready but they decided not to reveal it yet. “We had completed the design but we still decided to scrap it. When is OnePlus Watch going to be released?
As mentioned above, OnePlus has not made any announcement about release of their smart watch but as they are going to launch new Smartphone OnePlus 8T this year and they’re so clear on this release, so we can expect the release of smart watch at the same time. OnePlus 8T is to be released in market in October or maybe November so we can expect OnePlus watch in market by the end of 2020. We will update more about the release date as soon as we get any official statement about this release.
How it will look like?
Like there is no official announcement about release, same is the case for design of watch but we made possible guesses based on the hints and facts.
We will not be surprised if design of OnePlus watch will be similar to that of OPPO watch, which is squared shape with round edges (design inspired from Apple Watch Series).It is in the fact of light that OPPO and OnePlus are very closely related to each other, both companies often release same type of products at same time. Now that OPPO watch is already in market so we can say that OnePlus will follow the legacy of OPPO. Another guess is that Watch is not going to be square type but circular instead because of the Tweet of @maxjmb , a tech leaker with good success percentage.
Another fact which is proving the circular design is that back in 2016, OnePlus revealed the design of their under process Watch, so if they are going to resume that same design, there is higher possibility of Circular Design for OnePlus Watch.

We personally suggest OnePlus to go for the square design as it enables users to have a better user experience as well as it is more popular these days but still the final verdict will be theirs.
How Much OnePlus Watch will cost?
No hints are dropped by OnePlus regarding the price of their upcoming Watch. But an Indian Shopping Website Smartprix has OnePlus Watch on their items list and they priced it ₹20,999 which ranges near to $286 and we think it is quite affordable as compared to Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE, but still it is a blind guess. OnePlus should end these rumors and give official statement about Watch.
Specifications:
As OnePlus is android developer so it is obvious that OnePlus Watch is going to use Wear OS by Google. Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 plus chipset is latest in the market, so there is higher possibility that OnePlus will use it in their Watch. Using Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 plus means that OnePlus Watch is going to give higher performance and a long-lasting battery life, major requirement of today’s technology. Also Wear 4100 is offering heart rate monitoring, step counter, alarms and timers. But if OnePlus is using Wear 3100, its performance is not as excellent as Wear 4100.
If we have a look on OPPO Watch in the light of the fact that OPPO and OnePlus are different but very closely related companies, it is using Snapdragon Wear 3100 with 1GB RAM, and 430 mAh Battery allowing 36 hours of non-LTE use.
Health Features:
People these days are becoming more health conscious especially after this pandemic and keeping it in mind; Apple and OPPO have introduced new and updated health features in their recently released wearable. So if OnePlus is going to launch any Watch, new health features are kind of must have to make a place in this daily changing market of technology.
There is a high probability of OnePlus watch release after its certification from IDMA and also the rumors fueled up after this certification.
Let us wait for the announcement of OnePlus and see what they are going to launch in market and will it be better than recently launched Apple’s Watch Series or not, whether it will be a competition for other wearable in market or not because back in time, while cancelling the revelation of their Watch, CEO Pete Lau of OnePlus said that all major manufacturers have released their smart watch in market, and adding one more would just weaken the otherwise strong lineup of OnePlus. After the release of OnePlus Android TV and OnePlus Buds, we can say that OnePlus is going to develop an ecosystem of their own.
